Special Sessions > Complement Clauses

Call for papers:

This special session is tied to our new ANR DFG project  IMMAGES (“Hosting a clause: Implications for the matrix and its guests” https://cethis.univ-tours.fr/version-francaise/projets-finances/fral-immages) and serves as a kick-off workshop on the project. The topic of the project is clausal complementation of the various sorts (for example in attitude reports, but not only). The particular interest of the project concerns the peculiarities of clauses as complements, subjects, or modifiers, in contrast to referential DPs. The project brings together syntactic studies on language development, dialectological variation, and linguistic typology (Basque, French, German (and dialects of German), Greek, and Hungarian) with semantic and philosophical research on the semantics of clausal complements, in particular recent views on which clauses act as predicates of content bearers.  For the special session, we invite contributions pursuing any theoretical approaches on semantic, philosophical, or syntax-semantics interface issues regarding embedded clauses of the various sorts.
